Street Girl of the Week

Hi guys !
Today we’ll look at the Lucie’s style. I met her in Nanterre University last week, and I had the opportunity to ask her some questions about the way she dresses.

Me : How much importance do you give to your style ?
Lucie : I’m not going to say that I spend a lot of time of thinking about it, but I really like to go shopping and I like to dress. I am not obsessed with it, but I want to feel good when I leave my house, and I can’t if I don’t like the way I am dressed.
Me : How would you define your style ?
Lucie : I don’t really know… I like to wear feminine garments and be pampered, but without doing too much. I don’t want to shock anybody or to make myself stand out from others, I just want to be natural and feel comfortable with what I am wearing. That’s why I don’t wear high heels. I prefer booties. I have a lot of them; with laces, with small heels, with zippers.

Me : Can you comment on how are you dressed today ?
Lucie : The weather just started to change, so I’m adapting my style! I like to wear colorful outfits when it is sunny. I am wearing blue-green skinny pants, a white blouse with a blue design that I love, a leather bag and of course my booties. These ones are brown with laces. I have white feather earrings and a fresh manicure. I chose pink because I really like this color and I use it only in the Spring and Summer !
Unfortunately I didn’t have much time to talk with Lucie, the exams period just started at our university so she was running to study. But we can see that even in these moments, fashion and style is always important! Take care of yourself everyday.
Enjoy your week-end,
Soiree of the Week

The Amalfi Coast

Bonjour Fashionistas!

Typically, we try and give you styles to wear around Paris, BUT, it’s Spring Break, and i’m currently sunning it up in the Amalfi Coast in Italy! I’ve put together a look that would be perfect for a day around Positano- maybe grab a little lunch or a drink and do some shopping! It would also definitely work great in doubling as a cover-up for a swimsuit for those days on the beach or on a boat!

I put together a look featuring denim cutoffs, an off the shoulder (SO in right now) pinstripe top, tan sandals, a colorful straw beach tote with pom-poms, tortoiseshell sunnies, and a simple gold choker!

Seriously, everyone is wearing this style shirt right now. This top is an adorable piece and a great way to transition into the Spring season. Denim shorts will definitely always be in style, and also work as a great cover up option for a swimsuit!

I kept the tan sandals simple and understated since pieces like the tote and top contribute enough pops of color and patterning to the look on their own.

Sunnies are always a must, especially on the Coast! I chose these tortoiseshell ones because they are a great complement to the rest of the outfit, and the round-frame is very popular currently. The choker adds a little bit of pizzaz to the outfit, but is not meant to be the outfit’s main focal point. Beachin’ it means light makeup, natural hair and low-key, understated jewelry.

I decided to add a colorful tote with words on it. This might be a little too out-there for some ladies.. totally your call in terms of how much color you want to add to this look with the bag! The outfit would also look great with a tan crossbody bag or tote, if you’re more on the neutral side!

All of these pieces are pretty standard styles that you could find at your local Parisian Forever 21, H&M, etc. Get inspired by this look and you’ll be the most stylin’ girl in Amalfi!

xoxo, Claire

Boutique of the Week

American Vintage

Hey girls! It’s Brianna, and I’m back with another must-visit boutique!

Today I stopped by a super cute women’s store American Vintage located at 19 Rue Du Temple in Le Marais. The store caught my attention because of the all white walls and color coded merchandising.

American Vintage is actually a chain store, with locations all over Paris. The clothing is perfect for the changing seasons! I love the cleanliness of the store, and the employee was very welcoming.

Below are some of my favorite pieces and more photos of the store.

I love this long olive green cardigan. Here it’s paired with a pair of blue jeans, but you can dress it up a little more with a white chiffon blouse, black denim pants and short black booties.

I love this pairing of the orange blouse and striped pants for a warm Spring afternoon. This outfit is perfect for brunch on the terrace or a day exploring the city.

I highly recommend checking out American Vintage! You can use Yelp to find a location nearest you.

What’s on your must-have for Spring garments?

Street Girl of the Week

Bonjour Fashionistas!

Our street girl of the week is the lovely Chloé. She currently works at a café while taking art classes part-time.

Chloé was sweet enough to let me interview her this past week to give me some more insight into her personal street style.

Claire: Where do you get the inspiration for your everyday street style?

Chloé: I follow a lot of fashion blogs and style focused Instagram accounts. I really feel that this is the best way to stay aware of all the new trends. My friends also give me a lot of inspiration since they are the ones I shop with most often!

Claire: What are you most excited about in terms of your wardrobe for this spring?

Chloeé: I’m especially excited to buy new jeans and sunglasses. I love the distressed denim look thats trending, especially jeans with frayed ankles. And you can NEVER have too many pairs of sunglasses. I love the chunkier ones that are neutral in colors. 🙂

Claire: What’s your all time favorite store?

Chloé: Topshop, absolutely. I love mixing dark colors with fun patterns and colors, and Topshop sells a lot of pieces that allow me to do this type of look. Most of my outfit today is from Topshop! The shoes, jeans, and jacket are all Topshop pieces. I love that they offer lots of dark denim pieces that you can mix with their more eclectic pieces.

Thanks for letting us feature you this week, Chloé! We love your street style!

Soiree of the Week

This past weekend, I went to dinner at Kong – famous asian infusion restaurant known by Andy Warhol types from the 80’s and 90’s. Since going and getting a feel for the Vibe of how this restaurant worked, and how people dressed, I understood that it was a very “scene-y” place that has turned into a destination for try hard Americans. Looking passed the delicious, yet overpriced menu and drinks on the menu I’ll focus this week on what someone “back in the day” would have dressed when attending Kong. In order to restore Kong’s reputation, I decided to create an outfit that embodies its asian infusion food with its high end style. Screen Shot 2017-03-26 at 11.18.48 PM.png

With this outfit, you can enjoy a cocktail downstairs, and hurry up to your dim sum upstairs while watching the sun set over paris in their glass, bubbly like terrace overlook. This outfit I think is coming back into style in the sense that 90’s retro fashion is coming back to the younger generation. With girls dressing in vintage Levi’s and cropped adidas shirts, the Carrie in Sex and the City look is back and better than ever.

Nice Things

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting one of my new friend’s clothing store that she works at called Nice Things.

It’s located at 119 rue Vieille du Temple in the 3ème. This store is so cute and warm! Jane has been working there for almost a year now, and has already earned a lot of responsibility like opening and closing the store alone.

Nice Things is a company founded in Barcelona, Spain, which explains the Mediterranean/beach/vineyard vibes I got when I entered the store. Pastel hues and Spring sandals are big trends.

This mustard colored bucket bag was my favorite accessory! It’s perfect for a beach day or a picnic. It retails at 69.00 euros.

They even have a children’s section! It’s called “Collection Mini.” Mom’s can buy similar outfits for their toddler daughters! How cute?!

This outfit near the front of the store was one of my favorites. I have an obsession with white pants! The dark jacket paired with the coral sandals create an appealing contrast because of the white capris.

The weather is getting warmer, so check out Nice Things and buy a few items for the Spring/Summer seasons! You won’t regret it!

Street Girl of the Week

Bonjour Fashionistas!

I met Julie at a café here in Paris. She is a local Parisian who is taking time off from school to focus on pursuing her dreams of being a runway model! I was drawn to her because of her cute outfit- a simple black dress layered over a white t-shirt, a realllly popular trend right now, and it’s an awesome look because it can work during any point of the day! You could wear something like this to grab lunch with your girlfriend, or wear it for a night out on the town!

Julie was nice enough to answer a few of my blogger questions regarding her street style! Thanks Julie you rock! 🙂

Claire: How has being in the modeling industry impacted your everyday style?

Julie: I’m constantly doing shoots nowadays so it seems I am always surrounded by beautiful clothing! Before I began modeling I definitely would stick to more basic pieces, but now that I have gotten into this industry I try to spice up my outfits with more unique pieces because i’ve gotten a lot more comfortable with trying new things and changing up my style sometimes!

Claire: Where do you shop most often?

Julie: I love Paris because there are so many boutiques, but I will admit that most of my wardrobe is from Zara and H&M! I also love Topshop and Asos. I shop wherever I can find great pieces, so I try to explore the local stores as often as possible to see what they have!

Claire: How would you describe your personal street style?

Julie: I wear a lot of denim. I have three jean jackets and way too many pairs of jeans! I think they’re just timeless and work for almost any occasion. I also wear a lot of black and white. I’ve been trying to incorporate more color into my wardrobe slowly because I really tend to stick to more neutral colored clothing! Now that it’s Spring i’m definitely planning on adding some florals and more pops of color into my wardrobe!

A HUGE shout-out to our Street Girl of the Week- Julie! You’re fabulous and we love how you’re working your street style!

Until Next Week,
