Night Out in Paris

Bonjour Fashionistas!

This Soiree of the Week this week acts as a reminder that an “event” can just be a night out at a local Parisian bar or trendy restaurant with friends! You don’t need to be attending a concert, large social gathering, or Paris Fashion Week for an excuse to look amazing! This week’s look combines several black pieces- a bodysuit, leather jacket, and choker. Myself and my fellow bloggers have surely emphasized the importance of the staple color black in a Parisian’s wardrobe. This black leather jacket is a great staple piece in any woman’s wardrobe! You can wear it during the day, or at night, which makes it such a smart investment. Bodysuits have been trending for quite a few years now- this understated one keeps it classy when worn underneath these dark blue distressed jeans. A black choker with a jeweled charm definitely makes the dark, leather clad look a bit softer and more feminine. Nude nails and blush colored shoes with a fun fur accent definitely tie the entire look together. Hopefully this post encourages you to try mixing up some of your personal staple pieces with more fun ones as well. Enjoy your weekend ladies!

The boutique I have chosen to feature this week is actually one that I pass on a daily basis! It is a 2 minute walk from the CEA Center (still deciding whether this is more exciting or dangerous for fashion lovers like myself).

After browsing through the colorful racks randomly over the past few weeks, I finally decided to speak to the woman running the store to learn more about it. Leslie explained to me that the store is owned by her father, but she took over the management reigns last June.

She explained that the store used to be carry specifically vintage apparel. Since taking over for her father, she explained that she shifted in terms of that array of items she purchases for the store. The revamped boutique now offers more trendy and colorful pieces. When I asked Leslie where she gets her inspiration from when buying for the boutique, she explained that her biggest inspirations were Instagram, Pinterest, as well as the girls she sees walking around Paris each day!

Leslie also took some time to introduce me to the boutique’s Instagram account, featuring real-life customers who have purchased pieces from Maurice’s. She also explained that the four giant flowers that sit outside the store-front are used as props for these photographs- sort of the store’s signature if you may!

There were a few items that stood out to me in particular- the first of which was this light wash denim top with several colorful patches on it. At 69 euros, it was a bit on the pricier side in comparison to most of the Boutique’s other pieces, but I still thought it was worth sharing with our readers since it was so unique, and would be a nice pop of color for your our reader’s Spring Wardrobe! You could wear this piece to class, on a date, or even just for a casual day around the city!

Another piece I loved was this white off the shoulder top with colorful, flowery embroidery! I also think this top would be a great addition to a spring wardrobe. I like the embroidery because it provides a hint of color without being too much! I would pair this with a light wash pair of jeans and tan sandals on a sunny Parisian day!

Be sure to stop by Maurice’s for a great selection of tops, jackets, skirts, and shoes! And don’t forget to take a peek at the boutique’s Instagram, mauriceparisofficiel to stay updated on new products, and maybe even get inspiration for your own wardrobe!
